Tina Corner Stolz was certain hers would be a life spent climbing the corporate ladder. And for a while it was. The work suited her, and she was good at it, rising the ranks of a global telecom company until she was head of its 1.2 billion dollar North American Division. But, it wasn’t long until the entrepreneurial spirit inherited from her father became too strong to ignore.
As she pondered next steps, she reminded herself that her success was far from an individual effort, but rather the result of the relationships that she had carefully cultivated during her 11-year ascendency. It’s a lesson she learned from her father, and one that’s given her a competitive edge ever since—in business, relationships are more than that, they’re strategic partnerships.
After a two-year start-up experiment that fizzled out, Tina took that old lesson learned from her father and made it the foundation for her work as a peer advisory moderator, entrepreneur, and author.
One trip to a franchise expo outside of Washington, D.C. and a bold choice later, Tina launched her first peer-to-peer council as a franchisee of The Alternative Board, in 2005. She would spend the next seven years building the organization into the largest single-owner peer board franchise in the world before selling in 2012 for a record number.
In 2013 Tina founded her peer advisory board company, LXCouncil (Leader Exchange Council). LXCouncil trains, supports entrepreneurs through a certification license how to create and run their own PaCs (Mastermind group). Licensees receive turnkey templates, tools, innovative resources and hands on support while belonging to a closed community of others running councils both virtually and in person.
A graduate of Harvard Business School’s Program for Management Development with a B.S. in Marketing and Business Logistics from the University of Missouri, Tina has supplemented her education with certifications in DISC and PIAV behavior assessments and participated in Dan Sullivan’s Strategic Coach Program.
In addition to Your Seat at the Table, Tina is the author of Sit Down! Speak Up! Cash In! A CEO Guide to Peer Advisory Groups the first ever book to be written about why join a Mastermind group.
Tina and her husband, Scott, split their time between St. Petersburg, Florida, and the Lake of the Ozarks. Join Tina’s peer council community!
